Not only that, but the crabs re-enter the hole on the way out. The game deliberately staggered their speeds (look how fast that one is moving) to make sure that you'd recognize these are unique enemies and it isn't a spawn point- the very thing you're complaining about was actually considered in the design here. Only a few enemies come out with inconsistent timing- the first two even come out at the same time. Passing this by leads to a dead end in the next room, meaning that the player- recently having been stuck and looking for a way out- will for a second time see the crabs scurrying out of the ground. It's not like the game is forcing you to roll directly into them.Ĥ. The enemies won't be there by the time the player has seen them scurry out. If you rolled anywhere near it to test bomb it, you'd fall in and discover it.ģ. It's not covered by bricks, it doesn't need to be bombed. You can't bomb it because you'd fall down the shaft before even being able to place one. Obviously, the conclusion when things are coming out of a specific place in the floor should be that the game is lobbing you a softball and letting you know there's a hole there.Ģ. At this point in the game, you've become an expert at testing every suspicious block or anomaly in the walls and floors. but the pits are in two isolated rooms, so it's not a big deal.ġ. They're not bad to get out of, but it's one of the few things in the game that I do agree could have been done better.

All I can see is that if you're moving side to side near the surface and then jump, you'll fly out usually.

Sometimes you'll just shoot out of them at full speed, other times you'll remain stuck. They can be hard to jump out of and the way they work isn't clear to figure out. Not that I don't sympathize with your predicament, but not every experience should be custom tailored to distracted, bite sized sessions. If you can't play Metroid for more than 5 minutes at a time and need objective markers to spell everything out. If you've got time to play video games, you've got time to play video games. Says guy with snooty, condescending attitude.
